The union cabinet decided last year (August 2020) to establish a nodal agency (named National Recruitment Agency or NRA ) for conducting recruitment exams. The NRA is expected to start functioning from the year 2022, but not many details are available as of today (October 2021).
What do we know so far?
- The Common Entrance Test (CET) may be at three levels – 10th, 12th, and Graduation.
- The NRA CET will be in different Indian languages.
- The scorecard issued by the NRA will be valid for three years.
- Exams will be conducted twice a year and may have two phases – prelims and mains.
Various recruiters, viz., government departments, public sector banks, railways, etc., can use the NRA scorecards as a basis. Once implemented, the NRA CET may replace existing IBPS, SSC, and RRB exams.
How do we prepare for the NRA CET?
You can not possibly prepare for an NRA CET till they announce any exam. But these exams are expected to follow the pattern of the existing IBPS or SSC syllabus – General English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Logical Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, and Basic Computer (fundamentals and applications).
